Scarian is the classic <3 ive only written them once for a friend and it took me… months… got stuck on one scene and avoided it for ages (and then got into taurtis x grian but that’s another story)

Cub and Scar being brotherly and inseparable is soo <3333 everything to me. Have you read “closer to another shore”? Oh my god. Changed my life. And scar and Cub within that book… absolute peak. Devoured it twice over and once more on top of that. Very much recommend if you want to tear your own heart out and crush grian like a bug!

I have this whole scale AU for Scarian that I'll write one day. it's bound to be my hardst work yet (yeah including the historial research and mapping nightmare that is Dealing Despair), because Splinter is one of those fics you have to plan every single scene out to make it all come together in the end.

My goal with Splinter) whenever I get around to writing it, it is to have like a fraction of coolness Birrdie's as above, so below has?? It's still one of my favorite fics of all time and I strive to write an AU like that one day. Splinter isnt the same thing? it's like a past life kind of thing, but the part im trying to emulate from aasb is the "oh something is happening here...I am scared of it" vibe.

Eitherway, if you want a good Grian fic (with some Scarian) THATS the fic. This is the fic I give to all my friends new to the fandom/to fanfiction. I shove aasb and Dirges in the Dark at them because those are the two fanfics I want on my shelf YESTERDAY. Like physical copies. (I am working on that actually....)

Roach has grammatical gender, in which only Male, Female, and Object are grammatical genders, whereas Worker uses feminine grammar, Queen and King use a slight variant on feminine grammar, and Drone, and Queen-Alate use masculine grammar. This is because King is derived from Queen, due to their similar positions in a colony, and Queen-Alate is derived from Drone, as both are forms of alate.

Queen is an alteration of feminine grammar that functionally just adds a handful of extra syllables to it, and King is an offsprout of Queen that uses the same grammar with different pronouns. Queen-Alate, despite the name, is derived from Drone, as they are both for referring to different types of alate ant.

Most Roach dialects are intelligible to speakers of Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach, but Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach is not entirely intelligable to speakers of Roach dialects due to a mix of the excessively specialized vocabulary caused by the specific needs of its speakers, the fact that its speakers do not necessarily have Roach mouthparts and thus may not pronounce syllables in a similar way, and due to the fact that Inanimate Object is a full grammatical gender that does not exist in any other dialect of roach and replaces a decent chunk of terminology for things that previously had Other Words For Them.

community college is so funny because half of the teachers are like "For this class you need to use lockdown browser for all quizzes and tests. You need to buy this 70 dollar textbook, and all papers turned in must be in APA format with a title page even if they're only 500 words long. I will not accept late assignments. Also you have a minimum of 4 assignments a week." and the other half are like "you don't need proctoring for the final exam I trust you. here's a download link to a pirated copy of the textbook. as long as your writing is coherent and demonstrates an understanding of the material I literally could not care less what format you use. I can't figure out how canvas works so I'm not giving you due dates, just make sure it's turned in before the grading period ends. your only weekly assignment is a forum post with a minimum of 100 words."

#my favorite teacher so far is still the film history professor I had in my first semester.#he was very old and didn't understand how canvas worked at all and sometimes had trouble opening a video file #but simultaneously he was tech literate enough to recommend we use firefox with an ad blocker #because whenever someone missed class and was like 'where do i go to find the movie' he'd be like 'use an ad blocker and google it'#he said the school made him stop emailing links to free movie sites because people would open them on chrome with no ad block #and there'd be borderline malware on them. like this guy gave me the impression he was like. a veteran movie pirate lol.#that class had barely any assignments. like there wasn't a final exam or anything.#he just wanted us to write a paragraph or so answering a few questions about the movies we watched. it was chill.#and i also learned a lot actually. like i didn't know what a nickelodeon was before then. or the Hays Code.#the movies were genuinely good. i never thought Id be that into old black and white movies or westerns for example but they actually slapped #some of them had really mature themes and i definitely started to understand the people on this website who are like #'if the only media you consume is children's media you should maybe branch out instead of calling steven universe problematic'#because a lot of the movies we watched depicted very 'problematic' things and were able to directly address them because they are for adults #(to clarify I didn't just like kids media before then. i just mean that it introduced me to some older stuff i didn't think I'd like)#(but i ended up liking a lot. it also made me realize that movies made today are kind of shit. which i also already knew)#(but it put it more into perspective because I have more to compare it to)#im rambling now. community college is pretty swag i enjoy it. and i do get along with the teachers who have crazy requirements too lol.

Whenever a transphobe talks about how trans people are putting on a mask and pretending to be something we're not I think of what I wrote as a closeted 15-year-old as my gender dysphoria was leading me to disassociate while at school.

Like... Maybe you think that you would feel like you're pretending to be something you're not but it's kind of the opposite.

I KNEW when I started this process that alum would be a heavily overlooked commodity throughout history but this paper is going into the taxation by the Roman empire, particularly their fortresses along the trade route in order to secure it as an international commodity and GOD that is so cool. Aluminum is just like nitrates but for clothing, art, and processing rather than war!! Then we were able to synthesize the process and it's become forgotten and obsolete.

#Total aside. It's becoming my personal pet peeve that academic papers with a fairly narrative layout NOT be in APA formatting because #I literally can't read the paper for the citations. Use Chicago I'm fucking begging you. Journal editors: you need better taste.#... shit how am I going to fit clothing into all this?#Also this paper brought up 'protactor ad mercurium' which the paper speculates is the manager of monopolized commodities #but I don't think that's right. I think that's the metallurgical commodity manager and I wonder if alum was also used for gold mining in #Spain; which would explain the massive uptick in alum mining at the time and also all the effort put to securing the resource.#We could check this by seeing if the amagamation process uses alum OR if the mercury production in Amalden/uhhh that one in Austria #required alum. Alternatively it could've just been used for all the other shit that was going on at the time: art and medical use and #clothing was at an all-time high. only why would you have protractor ad mercurium for that...???#You know I could solve this with Google #GOOGLE WHAT IS PROTACTOR AD MERCURIUM

been really into this sandwich/burger lately: bottom bun, thin layer mayonnaise, mushed 1/3rd of a can of green peas, american cheese, 4 pieces of fried bacon, normal cheese, ham, american cheese, another layer of mayonnaise & top bun. i use hamburger buns for it cause i bought some when i made burgers for me & my mum and then didnt use them cause we had buns with cheese on top & they sounded better but im sure any other type of bun or maybe toast (or just regular boring bread if ur weird) would work too. also i put the hamburger buns on the grill pan w the bacon for a minute or two cause that makes them real niceys. i dont think anyone will try making this after reading this post as mushed canned green peas (they have to be canned peas) r a bit too avant garde for sandwichburgerthings but i wanted to share this w the world anyway

#ate one today for lunch. yum it was so good #the peas really tie everything together so well . this would be dogshit without them #ill try adding half a can next time & see if this works too or if they overpower everything else then #the reason i use american cheese is cause it melts really fast (unlike the normal cheese which usually ends up only half melted)#and gives the whole thing an almost creamy texture? which works well with the peas & brings out the crunchyness of the bacon #the reason why im using 4 entire pieces is cause 1) i like bacon & 2) we have so much of it someone needs to eat it before it goes bad #voidcore.txt #also if u dont know how to mush such a small amount of peas i personally use one of those bowls for crushing herbs and spices #one of those with the little Thing . google is saying this is called a pestle and mortar
